I cannot install the application - error 216 when setup starts

Problem - you have downloaded the application but it does not start and provide a numbered error.
Reason - The setup program was not downloaded completely.
Solution - You have to download the application again but make sure that it will not start from the browser cache. Click download again and then click SAVE and not RUN. When saving the setup program give it a new name to avoid the cached version. Later execute the setup from the directory where it saved.

 

Cannot detect sound card  - Error during the installation (the configuration)

During the Loco4chat installation process the Loco tries to detect the sound card. In some cases that process fails. The following cases are known issues that currently we are working to solve:

1. Your Microphone is not connected at the same place that your speakers are connected to.
For example: USB microphone or a microphone in the web camera. Try to disconnect the microphone and reinstall Loco4chat.
2. Some old laptops does not have a sound card that Loco4hcat can currently support.
3. If you play music or other sounds during the installation we might have a problem to detect your sound card details. Please close and music source and try again.
4. Since the beta nature of the current version, it is possible that other cases might prevent you from completing the installation succesfuly. Please contact our support team and we will be happy to assist.

 

I cannot cannot hear the sounds

Can you hear music in the computer? If the answer is not then Loco4chat cannot play the sounds because of the same reason. It is possible that your speakers are off, the volume is too low, or the Windows sound output is muted. Check the volume icon at the system tray.

If you can hear other sound files and music but cannot hear the Loco4chat sounds, try to install again the application. Please contact support team in case it does not help.
When contacting Loco4chat support team, please make sure to add the required information as listed above.

My friends cannot hear the sounds

Can your friend hear you when you are talking? If no is the answer, make sure to run a voice conversation first. If yes is the answer, please try to reinstall Loco4chat and make sure that you close any music player or other sound making application while installing and running for he first time.

My friends complain that the sound quality is poor

IILoco4chat is using the VoIP (Voice over IP) application sound transfer abilities to send the sound files over the Internet. The VoIP applications transfer these sounds as they were your own voice so Loco4chat does not have any control on the sound quality.
Try to restart your conversation and see if it gets any better. If the sound quality is still poor while your friend can hear you well, please check the volume panel at:

Control panel - multimedia / Sound & Audio devices - Audio tab - click "Volume" on the recording option. Now try to play with the volume of your "Stereo Mixer", "Wave", "What you hear"... One of them should work. Each sound card has it's own way to define the sound file recording volume.
